Carlsberg Flask

SKE Carlsberg flask is a flat-bottomed stainless steel vessel used in laboratory for pure yeast strain cultivation. Featuring a sealed top, it is fully autoclave-compatible for steam sterilization and can also be directly heated on gas or electric stoves. SKE Carlsberg flask comes equipped with a sterile air filter, aseptic sampling valve,aseptic inoculation valve, and insulated handle.

Yeast Propagation System

SKE Yeast Propagation Plant is special designed for yeast propagation under sterile conditions for brewing industry . SKE Tflexible design of the yeast propagation system enables the propagation of different yeast strains as required. SKE Yeast Propagation Plant features a high degree of automation and adopts a skid-mounted design, which significantly reduces installation and commissioning time. Equipped with an exclusive integrated tank top assembly, the system incorporates core functions such as automatic pressure control, pressure relief adjustment, anti-vacuum valve, liquid level probe, and sterile oxygenation device, enabling precise control of key parameters.

CIP Yeast Propagation Working Principles

  • After CIP and steam sterilization, the propagation vessel is filled with hot or cold wort.
  • Wort is then sterilized by means of the heating jacket on the cone and thereafter cooled by means of the cooling jacket on the cylindrical part.
  • Before inoculation, the wort is aerated with sterile air.
  • The vessel is hereafter inoculated with pure yeast culture from a Carlsberg Flask under sterile and aseptic conditions.
  • During propagation, temperature is maintained at a set level and the propagating yeast is aerated according to the particular strains’ requirement.
  • When the yeast has reached the required cell concentration, it is then pitched into an intermediate fermenter or directly into a wort transfer to a fermenter.
